(SINL NIGERIA) Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have sustained aggressive offensive operations across the theatre, recording notable successes in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
This include the neutralisation of terrorists, arrest of suspects, and the surrender of a terrorist member.
A statement on Friday by Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba said the developments are part of Operation DESERT SANITY V, a coordinated military campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring stability in the region.
According to the statement in one of the operations conducted alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), troops engaged terrorists moving from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis.
“During the encounter, four terrorists were neutralised, while troops recovered an AK-47 rifle with ammunition, as well as food items believed to be part of terrorist logistics supply. The troops returned safely to base without casualties.
Similarly, sustained offensives by multiple units along key routes, including Dambboa–Maiduguri, Dambboa–Gwoza, and the Goniri axis, effectively denied terrorists freedom of movement and disrupted their activities across major infiltration corridors.
In a related development, troops deployed at Kanama arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators during a stop-and-search operation.
The suspects were found with items, including clothing and personal effects, believed to support terrorist logistics.
“Preliminary investigations also uncovered digital materials suggesting possible links to terrorist groups. They are currently in custody for further investigation”.
Meanwhile, troops also recorded the surrender of a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area.
The individual reportedly claimed to have been abducted earlier in the year and forced to join the terrorist group. He is currently undergoing profiling and further investigation.
The Theatre Command reiterated its commitment to restoring lasting peace, security, and economic stability in the North-East, urging residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies.
SINL NIgeria Online reports that the military high command commended the troops for their gallantry and resilience, encouraging them to sustain the ongoing operational momentum.
