NOA Congratulates Information Minister Idris at 60, Highlights Reforms in National Orientation Sector

(SINL NIGERIA) The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has congratulated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, applauding his remarkable leadership in communicating government policies, programmes and activities.

The Director-General of the agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, in a statement by Paul Odenyi
Deputy Director, Media and Communication conveyed heartfelt felicitations to the minister, also commended his steadfast leadership and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s national reorientation agenda in line with the country’s broader development goals.

The DG described the minister as a focused and forward-looking leader whose dedication to public service has continued to strengthen the information and orientation sector, noting that his stewardship has provided the necessary direction for agencies under the ministry to engage citizens and promote national consciousness effectively.

Issa-Onilu observed that the minister’s consistent emphasis on national values, civic responsibility, and patriotism has helped reposition public discourse, encouraging Nigerians to adopt a stronger sense of belonging and responsibility towards the country’s growth and stability.

According to him, the minister’s leadership has brought renewed energy and purpose to the task of reconnecting citizens with the core ideals of unity, discipline, and collective responsibility, which remain essential for achieving sustainable national development.

The DG further noted that the clarity, structure, and consistency introduced into government communication under the minister’s guidance have significantly improved public understanding of policies and programmes, thereby fostering a more informed and engaged citizenry.

He also acknowledged the minister’s firm commitment to promoting truthful, timely, and responsible communication, stressing that such an approach has played a critical role in countering misinformation and strengthening public trust in government institutions.

Issa- Onilu stated that the agency has continued to draw strength from the minister’s leadership, which has enhanced its operational focus and enabled it to deepen its grassroots sensitisation efforts across diverse communities in the country.

He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the minister’s vision by intensifying advocacy programmes aimed at promoting discipline, integrity, and active citizenship, while also encouraging Nigerians to take ownership of national development efforts.

While wishing the Minister more success in life, Issa- Onilu prayed the Almighty to grant him long life and greater fulfillment.
