Iran has responded strongly to US President Donald Trump’s warning that their “life and safety” would be at risk if they participate in the World Cup in the US, stating that no one can exclude them from the tournament.
The Iranian team emphasized that the World Cup is a global sporting event governed by FIFA, not individual countries or leaders.
They also implied that if any country should be excluded, it’s the US, which is struggling to provide security for participating teams.
This response comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the US, with Iran’s sports minister previously stating that it’s “not possible” for the team to participate in the tournament.
