Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued two kidnapped victims in separate operations across Bassa and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
The operations, conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected terrorists and kidnappers in the areas.
In Bassa LGA, troops of Sector 3 rescued Mr Ndubuisi Onuigbo after launching a search-and-rescue operation following information on his abduction.
Similarly, troops of Sector 2, deployed at Kukawa village in Kanam LGA, encountered suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The troops pursued the fleeing terrorists, forcing them to abandon a kidnapped victim, identified as Mallam Sambo Abdullahi, who was subsequently rescued.
The two victims were debriefed and reunited with their families.
The Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism and decisive action in disrupting criminal activities across the Joint Operations Area.
Dangana also appealed to residents to remain calm and cautious, urging them to continue supporting the troops in their efforts to restore peace and security across the state.
