The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six-hour power outage in parts of Abuja on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, due to scheduled maintenance at its 132/33kV Kukwaba Transmission Substation.
In a statement on Monday, TCN said the maintenance exercise would run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
According to the company, its maintenance crew will replace a faulty line circuit breaker on the 33kV L36 feeder connected to one of the substation’s 60MVA 132/33kV power transformers.
TCN said the exercise would prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from taking power for onward distribution to customers in Idu Railway Station, Idu Industrial Zone, CITEC Estate and parts of Lifecamp.
Customers supplied through the Wuye 1 and Wuye 2 Injection Substations will also be affected by the outage.
The transmission company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the planned interruption.
