The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has won the Public Information Campaign of the Year Award at the 2026 Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Special Recognition Awards.

The award was presented on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, in recognition of the agency’s contributions to public enlightenment, strategic communication, civic education and the dissemination of government policies and programmes.

The Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Communication and Media, Bala Musa, who received the award on his behalf.

The ceremony attracted public and private sector organisations, advertising professionals, corporate executives and other stakeholders in Nigeria’s advertising and marketing communications industry to celebrate excellence, creativity and innovation.

Other awards presented at the event recognised outstanding performance in consumer response management, sponsorship marketing, brand reinvention and innovation, as well as achievements across various sectors of the economy.

Reacting to the recognition, Issa-Onilu described the award as an endorsement of the agency’s renewed commitment to innovative public communication, national value reorientation and citizen engagement.

He said effective public information campaigns remained essential to national development, strengthening public trust, promoting responsible citizenship and bridging the communication gap between the government and the governed.

The NOA boss reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to deepening public understanding of government policies, promoting the National Values Charter, strengthening national unity and encouraging positive behavioural change.

He dedicated the award to the agency’s management and staff nationwide, particularly personnel working at the grassroots, whose commitment and professionalism, he said, continued to enhance the agency’s visibility and impact.

Issa-Onilu also commended ARCON for recognising the strategic importance of public sector communication in national development, adding that the honour would further motivate the agency to adopt innovative, inclusive and citizen-centred communication strategies.

He said NOA would continue to leverage its nationwide operational structure, traditional and digital media platforms, and strategic partnerships to promote informed citizenship, national cohesion and sustainable behavioural change.

The recognition marks another milestone in the agency’s efforts to reposition public orientation as a vital instrument for national transformation and deliver impactful information campaigns to Nigerians across the country.
