The Nigerian Navy Marines, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army’s 403 Amphibious Brigade, have killed 34 Boko Haram terrorists in separate offensive operations in the Lake Chad area of Borno State.

The operations, conducted under Operation HADIN KAI on October 28 and 30, 2026, followed intelligence-driven missions targeting terrorist hideouts and enclaves in the region.

The Nigerian Navy disclosed this in a statement issued by its Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho.

According to the statement, the first operation, conducted on October 28, initially recorded eight terrorists killed in action, but a subsequent Battle Damage Assessment revised the casualty figure to 28.

In a separate operation on October 30, Nigerian Navy Marines stationed at the Naval Base Lake Chad launched a precision strike against an identified Boko Haram enclave at Dumba.

The operation followed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions that enabled the troops to identify and monitor terrorist movements before executing the strike.

Preliminary assessments indicated that six terrorists were neutralised, while several others sustained injuries. The Navy said the casualty figures were still undergoing verification.

The statement noted that the recently established Nigerian Navy Marines had continued to strengthen joint military operations under Operation HADIN KAI, serving as a force multiplier in the fight against insurgency in the North-East.

It added that their deployment had enhanced the military’s capacity to target terrorist hideouts, disrupt hostile activities and restrict Boko Haram’s freedom of movement within the Lake Chad area.

The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting joint military operations through sustained offensive engagements and intelligence-led missions aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring peace and stability in the North-East.
