The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says its maintenance crew is working to repair a fault on the 33kV NIPP feeder at the Kubwa 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
TCN, in a statement by its management on Tuesday, said the feeder tripped at 9:39am on Sunday, September 20, 2026, due to an earth fault.
According to the company, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) maintenance team subsequently patrolled the feeder and certified it fit for restoration.
However, TCN said an attempt to restore the feeder at 6:34pm resulted in another trip caused by overcurrent and earth fault.
The incident, it said, damaged the blue-phase interrupter head of the feeder circuit breaker.
As a result, AEDC has been unable to take off bulk electricity supply to customers in FO1, Dantata Estate, Byazhin, Byazhin Across and Gbazango areas.
TCN said repair work on the affected breaker was ongoing and assured residents that electricity supply would be restored as soon as the repairs were completed.
The company however apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
