The All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors who is also the Governor of Imo State, Chief Hope Uzodimma, have called for unity among the APC members in diaspora to promote as well as support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
They were speaking during a Strategic Global Diaspora Conference organised by the Directorate of Diaspora and Global Affairs of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
Prof. Yilwatda, the National Chairman of APC, said there is need for unity among Diaspora communities, effective communication of government reforms and achievements as well as the establishment of structured media teams to counter misinformation and wrong narratives while promoting Nigeria’s achievements and image globally.
Nentawe spoke extensively on the need for diaspora involvement in voter education, investment mobilisation and promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Governor Uzodinma, the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Imo State emphasised the importance of Diaspora unity and grassroots mobilization support for President Tinubu’s administration to ensure victory during the 2027 elections.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who is the Deputy- Director General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, while commending Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for putting the event together, also stressed the importance of Diaspora involvement in the organisation’s activities as very crucial and strategic, noting that “our Diaspora can effectively mobilise grassroots support and contribute in electing the President”.
On his part, Dr. Bernard Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, spoke on connecting Diaspora capacity with grassroots governance highlighting the importance of establishing a strong media team involving young Nigerians to effectively showcase government achievements and counter misinformation.
Similarly, the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Chief Tayo Ayinde, who also is the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Lagos State, spoke extensively on the economic reforms and achievements of President Tinubu’s administration.
He highlighted some positive developments including Shell’s return to Nigeria, massive infrastructural development and the introduction of interest free loans for students through NELFund.
Speaking in the same vein, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and the Director, Diaspora Directorate, pledged her commitment to engage the millions of APC members in the Diaspora on effective and efficient communication strategies and policy dissemination.

Mr. Tayo Shodeinde, the Operational Director for Renewed Hope Ambassadors, both described the meeting as an August gathering of the APC Diaspora Community, featuring leaders and representatives from various chapters worldwide with the aim of strengthening coordination across different regions for the party’s future initiatives.
Participants who spoke at the virtual session promised total support and effective mobilisation of members towards the actualisation of set objectives.
The event, moderated by Mac Babafemi, serves as a platform to foster unity among Diaspora members and discuss the ongoing efforts to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Generally, participants, discussion centered on the importance of grassroots engagement unity among Diaspora communities, creating a compendium of President Tinubu’s achievements for sharing among the Diaspora communities and improved communication channels with calls for better coordination with government officials and direct access to leadership.
The global virtual meeting, which will be a continuous programme, drew over 600 participants across five continents including Africa, UK America, Canada, Europe and Australia.
