The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six-hour power disruption in parts of Abuja on Saturday, due to scheduled maintenance at its Katampe transmission substation.
The maintenance exercise, scheduled to run from 10am to 4pm, will affect one of the substation’s 60MVA power transformers and its associated switchgear.
In a notice issued on Saturday, TCN said the maintenance would prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from receiving electricity for onward distribution to customers in parts of the Federal Capital Territory.
The affected areas include Katampe Main, Katampe Extension, Jahi and their environs.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected communities for the inconvenience the maintenance work might cause.
TCN said the exercise was part of its scheduled maintenance activities at the Katampe 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
