The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk electricity supply to Durumi, Pyakasa, Trademore and other areas in Abuja following the repair of a faulty transformer at its Kukwaba Transmission Substation.

TCN, Abuja Region, disclosed that its technical team restored supply to the 60MVA, 132/33kV Transformer 1 at 4:14 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after successfully rectifying the identified faults.

“The transformer developed a fault at about 8:37 p.m. on Monday, October 19, resulting in the disruption of bulk electricity supply to connected feeders”.

With the restoration, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) can now receive electricity for onward distribution to customers in Durumi, Sunnyvale, Human Rights Radio, Pyakasa and the Trademore axis.

TCN however apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the outage.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring reliable bulk electricity transmission across the country.
