News

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has reconstructed three collapsed 132kV transmission towers and restored the Karu–Keffi–Akwanga transmission line.

The company announced that the reconstruction of towers T78, T79 and T80 was completed at 5:31 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

The restoration has re-established the transmission pathway serving the 132/33kV Keffi and Akwanga transmission stations.

Recall, the three towers collapsed on October 7, 2026, following heavy rainfall and strong winds, disrupting the affected transmission infrastructure.

However, TCN said its maintenance crew worked diligently to reconstruct the damaged towers and restore the transmission line.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining and strengthening the national transmission infrastructure to ensure the reliable and efficient transmission of bulk electricity across the country.
