The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a five-hour power outage in parts of Kogi State as it carries out its annual preventive maintenance exercise at the Ajaokuta 330/132kV Transmission Substation.
In a statement on Monday by the management, TCN said the maintenance would take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 10am to 3pm.
According to the company, the exercise is necessary to enable its maintenance crew to work on the bay switchgear and associated equipment on the 132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Line 1.
TCN explained that the exercise would affect electricity supply to customers of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in Adogo, Anyigba, Ganaja and adjoining areas.
It said electricity supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the maintenance work.
Meanwhile, the transmission company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the exercise might cause.
