The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk electricity supply through the Uyo/Itu 132kV transmission line following the completion of annual preventive maintenance.

The restoration was completed at about 8:15pm on Saturday, October 31, 2026, after the maintenance exercise, which commenced at 10am the same day.

According to TCN the exercise was necessary to enable its maintenance crew to carry out routine preventive maintenance on the transmission line to ensure its continued efficiency and reliability.

With the restoration, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) can now receive electricity for onward distribution to customers in Eket, Ikot-Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, Onna and Uyo Complex.

The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption of supply during the maintenance exercise.
