The Executive Director, Operations of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Hon. Mojisolaoluwa Ally-Maculay, has been appointed Matron of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Professional Women Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.
SINL Nigeria Online reports that the appointment was announced during a courtesy visit by members of the Council to Ally-Maculay, where they highlighted their commitment to promoting women’s leadership, inclusion and advocacy for women’s welfare and protection.
The FCT Coordinator of the Council, Dr Maria Olasehinde, who led the delegation, said the organisation was committed to creating platforms that would encourage women to assume leadership positions, participate actively in governance and contribute to national development.
Olasehinde described Ally-Maculay as a mentor and source of inspiration to women across different professional and social backgrounds, noting that her leadership experience and commitment to women’s empowerment made her deserving of the recognition.
She said the NSITF executive director’s exemplary conduct and contributions to women’s development demonstrated the importance of effective female representation in politics and governance.
Responding, Ally-Maculay welcomed the delegation and stressed the need for women to move beyond mere representation to active participation in decisions shaping the country’s future.
She urged women to deliberately position themselves in strategic spaces where critical decisions are made, particularly in politics, governance and public leadership.
According to her, national development can only be strengthened when women are adequately represented and actively involved in policy formulation and decision-making.
She also emphasised the importance of collective support, visibility and engagement among women to create more opportunities for female participation across different sectors.
Ally-Maculay’s acceptance of the appointment is expected to provide the Council with the benefit of her professional experience and leadership insights in pursuing its objectives.
The visit ended with a renewed commitment by both parties to promote women’s leadership, strengthen solidarity and expand opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to national development.
