Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, a female ammunition courier and a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The operations, conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, also led to the recovery of 300 rounds of ammunition and four communication devices allegedly used by terrorists.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Media Information Officer of JTF NW OPFY, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops of Sector 1 first conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area.
Danja said the troops arrested the suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate during the operation.
He added that the suspects were currently in military custody for further investigation.
SINL Nigeria Online reports that in a separate operation the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence intercepted a 50-year-old female ammunition courier in Igabi Local Government Area.
The suspect was reportedly found in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
“The suspect and the recovered ammunition have been taken into military custody for further investigation”.
Continuing Danja said later in the day, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, also apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
Danja said four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists were recovered from the suspect during interrogation and a search.
The suspect and recovered items were also said to be in military custody.
The JTF said the operations demonstrated the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupting terrorist networks, restricting the movement of arms, ammunition and logistics, and denying criminal elements freedom of action across its area of operations.
Meanwhile, the task force commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
