The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled preventive maintenance exercise at its Effurun 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Delta State, warning electricity consumers of a brief power interruption.
The exercise is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, October 28 and 29, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.
According to a statement by TCN management on Tuesday, the maintenance is necessary to enable Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors to safely commission the SERGI fire protection system on the 100MVA 132/33kV Transformer T2 (3EFRTR2).
The company said the exercise would require essential switching operations by its engineers, resulting in a power interruption of approximately 20 minutes on affected feeders.
The affected 33kV feeders supplied through the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) include Refinery 1 and 2, Effurun, PSLM and Warri.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for any inconvenience the exercise might cause, assuring that the maintenance was necessary to facilitate the safe commissioning of the fire protection system.
