The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled its Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, integrity and ethical conduct across the organisation.
The policy was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, by the TCN Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) at the company’s corporate headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the initiative as a significant step towards reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.
Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on its achievements but also on the manner in which those achievements were realised.
He urged staff to familiarise themselves with the policy and ensure that its provisions reflected in their daily decisions and conduct.
The TCN chief executive commended the ACTU and others who contributed to the development of the document, noting that its objective went beyond preventing corruption to fostering a culture of honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.
He also called on staff to support the effective implementation of the policy and uphold its principles in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Earlier, the Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling was more than the presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability.
Benibo noted that corruption weakens institutions, undermines public trust and wastes valuable resources, stressing that combating the menace required the commitment of every member of staff.
Also speaking, the representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, presented an overview of the policies.
Ifeajika highlighted the significance of the document in influencing staff conduct, guiding decisions and strengthening institutional systems.
She explained that the policies provide guidelines for preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices.
The highlight of the occasion was the formal unveiling of the TCN Anti-Corruption Policy book.
