(SINL NIGERIA) The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has reaffirmed the importance of moral support, prayers, and national unity in strengthening the resolve of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the ongoing fight against insecurity across the country.
General Musa made this known when he played host to the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Lazarus Muoka in Abuja.
The Defence Minister stated that tackling insurgency, banditry, terrorism, and other forms of criminality requires a whole-of-society approach, stressing that prayers and encouragement from religious organisations continue to boost the morale of troops deployed across various theatres of operation nationwide.
He commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their sustained support and prayers for Nigeria’s security institutions, noting that the Armed Forces remain committed to defending the nation’s territorial integrity as well as protecting the lives and property of citizens.
General Musa also called on religious leaders across the country to continue promoting peace, patriotism, unity, and national cohesion, emphasizing that faith-based organisations have a strategic role in fostering harmony and supporting national security efforts.
In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government.
He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and the capacity to lead the country towards greater peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
The cleric also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops as well as lasting peace across the country.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity, and security.
