The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced urgent maintenance work at the 330/132/33kV Katampe Transmission Substation in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Saturday, TCN said its maintenance crew would commence work at 10 a.m. and conclude by 7 p.m. on September 5, 2026.
According to the company, the exercise is aimed at sealing an oil leakage from one of the transformers at the substation.
TCN said some transmission circuits would be affected during the maintenance, resulting in the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) being unable to take electricity from some feeders serving customers supplied by the affected transformer.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the temporary interruption, assuring that the maintenance was necessary to address the fault.
