FRSC Appoints Asst. Corps Marshal Bamigbayan as PSO to Corps Marshal

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Tajudeen Lasun Bamigbayan as the new Principal Staff Officer (PSO) at the National Headquarters of the Corps.

He takes over from Deputy Corps Marshal Meshack Jatau, who has proceeded on statutory retirement after a distinguished career in service to the nation, a statement by Olusegun Ogungbemide
Assistant Corps Marshal
Corps Public Education Officer said.

According to the statement, the appointment of ACM Bamigbayan is a strategic decision anchored on competence, integrity, institutional memory and an exceptional track record of performance.

“A cerebral officer with an uncommon blend of academic brilliance, operational depth and management excellence, ACM Bamigbayan brings to the office of the PSO nearly three decades of progressive service and transformational leadership within the FRSC”.

Born on 3 December 1969 in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, ACM Bamigbayan is an officer whose career has been defined by excellence from inception.

He was enlisted into the Corps in 1996 as an Assistant Route Commander and has served across critical Commands and departments nationwide, including Kano, Taraba, Adamawa, Borno, Anambra and at the National Headquarters.

Over the years, he has distinguished himself in administration, operations, training, public enlightenment and strategic planning.

Widely regarded as the intellectual powerhouse behind the Corps’ Quality Management System (QMS), ACM Bamigbayan has been central to the institutionalisation of ISO standards in the FRSC.

He played a pivotal role in the successful transition of the Corps from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 and later served as the Management Representative in charge of ISO implementation, leading to the historic ISO certification and subsequent recertification of the Corps in April 2025.

His expertise in quality assurance, policy coordination and organisational productivity has earned him national and international recognition.

An alumnus of the University of Ilorin, where he graduated with a Senate Award as Best Final Year Student, and the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, ACM Bamigbayan has also undergone extensive local and international capacity building programmes, including advanced ISO courses in Washington DC, USA, leadership and management trainings, and international conferences on safety, governance and emerging technologies.

His exceptional service has been rewarded with numerous commendations from Management and successive Corps Marshals, affirming his reputation as a meticulous, disciplined and result driven officer who delivers excellence with minimal supervision.

The Corps Marshal expressed confidence that ACM Bamigbayan’s appointment as Principal Staff Officer will further strengthen coordination, policy execution and strategic support at the highest level of the Corps’ leadership.

He described the new PSO as “a tested professional, a systems builder and a worthy standard bearer of the Corps’ vision for efficiency, discipline and service excellence.”

The Corps Marshal congratulated Assistant Corps Marshal Tajudeen Lasun Bamigbayan on his well deserved appointment and wished him resounding success in this critical national assignment, while also appreciating Deputy Corps Marshal Meshack Jatau for his meritorious service and invaluable contributions to road safety administration in Nigeria.
