The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has led a strategic meeting of political stakeholders in Katsina State as the Tinubu/Dikko Grassroots Mobilisation Movement intensifies efforts to strengthen its grassroots network ahead of the 2027 general elections.
SINL Nigeria Online reports that the meeting, held in Katsina under Kankia’s leadership as Director-General of the movement, brought together party leaders, political stakeholders and representatives from the state’s 34 local government areas to discuss political unity, grassroots engagement and strategies for effective mobilisation.
Kankia outlined the movement’s objectives and preparations for sustained political mobilisation, emphasising the need for a well-coordinated organisational structure capable of extending its activities across all local government areas.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation among members, improving coordination between state and local government leaders, and expanding the movement’s reach to grassroots communities.
The initiative is part of efforts to build a unified political network and enhance collaboration among stakeholders as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the meeting, the movement’s State Chairman, Dr Kabir Abdullahi Yantumaki, called for greater unity and cooperation among members, urging leaders at all levels to work collectively towards achieving the organisation’s objectives.
Yantumaki stressed that effective coordination between the leadership and members would be crucial to establishing a sustainable mobilisation structure and ensuring the successful implementation of the movement’s activities across the state.
He added that stronger collaboration among stakeholders would improve the organisation’s capacity to engage grassroots supporters and strengthen its political presence.
Among the prominent participants were a former commissioner and former chairman of Zango Local Government Area, Hon. Adamu Mato Zango, and the Special Adviser on Basic Education, Hon. Nura Katsayal.
The APC Director of Administration in Katsina State, alongside other party leaders and representatives from the state’s 34 local government areas, also attended the meeting.
Participants exchanged views on organisational priorities and explored practical approaches to strengthening political engagement at the state and local government levels.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to unity, teamwork and coordinated grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
However, the movement’s major challenge will be translating its mobilisation plans into an effective and functional grassroots network across all 34 local government areas of Katsina State.
